Welcome to the Cincinnati Chapter of CAIR-Ohio

As-Salaamu Alaykum, Peace be with you.

On behalf of the CAIR-Ohio Cincinnati Executive Board, Welcome to CAIR-Ohio’s new web site. We hope this site will serve as an important resource for you and your family on news and events in the Muslim community in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the nation as a whole.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is a 501c3 grassroots civil rights and educational organization with over 30 chapters in the United States and Canada.

The Cincinnati Chapter serves southern Ohio, including Cincinnati & Dayton, and northern Kentucky. We function as a clearinghouse for issues related to Islam and Muslims in southwest Ohio. Each day we strive to advocate for justice and mutual understanding. Our mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

Our work covers three broad areas: civil rights advocacy, educational outreach, and public relations.

Civil RIghts Advocacy

Our civil rights team handles cases of alleged religious, national origin and ethnic discrimination. Our experienced in-house attorneys have successfully resolved numerous cases of discrimination involving public accommodations, employment, bank account closures, green card and citizenship delays, and more. We also assist our community in reporting potential bias incidents and hate crimes. If you feel you have been discriminated against, please report your case using our on-line case intake service, or call us at 513-281-8200

Educational Outreach

Our educational outreach team presents accurate information on Islam and Muslims to an array of organizations including hospitals, schools, social service agencies, law enforcement, religious and civic groups, and members of the general public. Over the years we have provided presentations to hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals. Presentation topics include:

Public & media Relations

CAIR strives to present an accurate image of Islam and Muslims in the media and in public discourse. We conduct regular meetings with editorial boards, host seminars on Islam and Muslims for media professionals, and serve as a valuable resource and as a clearinghouse for media professionals. We strive to present reliable and timely information to journalists and to the public.
